We’re excited to reflect on the success of the Matchmaking Business Forum, held in Malta during the EU Startup Summit on April 24–25, 2025. Organized under the CallMeBlue project, co-funded by the European Union, the event brought together key Mediterranean blue economy players, fostering innovation, cooperation, and strategic alliances.

Thank you to the distinguished speakers who opened the Blue Economy Partnership Forum with inspiring remarks and insights: EMMANUEL NOUTARY (ANIMA Investment Network), Lidia Rossi (ForMare – Lead Partner of CallMeBLUE), Nathalie Farrugia (Malta Enterprise), and Maria Cini (WestMED Malta Hub). A special thanks to Audrey Caruana (Malta Enterprise) for her keynote highlighting Malta’s vibrant role in blue economy innovation and entrepreneurship.

The dynamic pitching sessions and matchmaking workshops sparked synergies between clusters and businesses across the Mediterranean.

Participants also visited the AquaBioTech Group site, an inspiring look at cutting-edge blue biotech. Thank you, Sian Ringrose (COO), for the enriching exchange on advancing sustainable marine solutions.

Across two dynamic days, innovators, clusters, entrepreneurs, and leaders connected through insightful discussions, matchmaking, and collaborative dialogue, all aiming to build stronger ties and unlock new opportunities for a sustainable blue future.

The forum showcased the strength of cross-regional cooperation and the vital role of clusters in driving growth, innovation, and resilience in the maritime economy.
